Meet Your Guide

I have been fishing Lanier for 58 years at the time I am writing this. I have watched Lake Lanier evolve since I was 6 years old. I grew up here. Fishing this lake is second hand nature to me. I have participated & contributed in developing some of the tactics and techniques that are widely used by many of Lanier’s top Striper fishermen. I know what I am doing and I quietly do my thing day in and day out. I’m 65 now but I still feel like I’m in my early 40’s. A little slower maybe but I have decades of experience. I have run thousands of days on these waters with people from all around the world. It never gets old and I have made a lot of life long relationships with my guests and students both on and off the water. This is my heaven on earth. I love these waters although it was much more serene back in the 60’s and 70’s but that’s ok. You have to pick your days and times and I’m pretty good at that now. Most of my guide trips are people (now friends) that return time and time again. They realize that they can go out with me, have a ton of fun catching Striped and Spotted Bass then leave and go home while I clean everything and get ready for tomorrow lol. Now that I’m focused on instructional trips I help a lot of people that have purchased or soon to purchase their own fishing vessels and I help them cut years off their learning curve with 3 to 4 days on the water with me. I also save them a lot of $ when it comes to setting up their boats and gear by getting exactly what they need the 1st time they purchase their electronics, rods, reels, bait tanks, fishing weights, line, leaders hooks and everything else that goes along with being successful finding and catching Lanier Striper. These fish are constantly on the move and if you don’t know what they need to survive and where they go to get it you can spend days if not weeks looking around this 39,000 acre body of water. It can be frustrating and daunting to say the least. No matter who you are and how long you have fished Lanier. You will have days when you’re doubting yourself and scratching your head trying to figure these fish out. My job is to help you cut that time & expense down. I am on the water 4-6 days a week so I typically have a good idea of where they are and what they are eating. Whether you want to learn or just go Striper fishing I would love to fish with you.
